A warm welcome to St Mary's Catholic Primary School

We hope that you will find the following pages useful and that they will provide you with a clear picture of our school, its life, ethos and expectation.

We are very proud of St. Mary’s and especially of the children we have the privilege to teach and inspire. We see all the children as precious and unique, and it is through working together within the school’s Catholic, Christian context that governors, staff, parents and friends of the school can best fulfil the needs of our children.

Of course the best way to learn more about our school is to visit us. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to arrange a visit.

Mark Brown Headteacher.

St Mary's Catholic Primary School

WHAT IS OUR ETHOS?
Our Mission is: to enrich our children through a Catholic education that develops the whole child as an individual.

We want our pupils to leave St Mary’s:
  • spiritually awakened and well-behaved
  • physically developed and healthy
  • academically well-grounded and inquisitive
  • emotionally balanced and confident

So we want each unique child to develop as well as they can, in an all-round way.

We have a calm, homely atmosphere with every child knowing and respecting all the other children in the school.

We apply Christian principles, celebrating strengths and giving encouragement about weaknesses.

That is why we have Mass on Holy Days and at the beginning and end of the year.
We had Mass outside in July.

Welcome
That is also why the whole school celebrates each child’s birthday and why we have stars and ‘special person’ badges, and give trophies for winning – with every child in one of 4 competition teams named after our national saints.
