Home learning week beginning 18th May 2020

Dear Eagles and Eagle families,

Luckily it has been another sun filled week and it looks set to continue. Taking a walk is a good way to feel calm and good about yourself so why not have a look at the link below, from the National Trust, for 50 things you can do in your garden or an outside space.

This week please take the time to review the learning that we have shared with you this half term. Look through the resources we have shared each week and if you know you have missed some of the work then use this week to complete it. Use all of the resources and resource links in the previous weeks to check your learning.

If you have completed all of the maths tasks from last week have a go at lesson 5-10 on converting units of measure. Use the games on mathsframe to test the skills you have revised and practised this term. Remember it is really important that you keep practising your times table and division facts. why not challenge us or a friend to a game?

We know lots of you have been working on your diaries.  Sunday 10th March was another piece of history when Boris Johnson spoke to the nation.  Have you included this in your diary ? What do you think about the Governments decision to return some children on Monday 1st June but not all.  If we return on Monday 1st June some of you will be returning and some won't.  What do you think of that ? What do you think school will be like if we can't share resources and need to keep separate from each other ?  Which sports and playtime games would you be able to play and which wouldn't you be able to play ?  Include your thoughts in your diary.  Ask others in your household what they think too.

Practise  using the grammar and punctuation skills which have been shared recently. We’ve covered a lot: speech, parenthesis, expanded nouns, verbs, relative clauses….

The link below takes you to a lovely Literacy Shed video. Watch the video a few times and write out the story, or use it as an inspiration for making up your own story. That way, you can really show off all the skills we’ve been working on over the last few weeks.

As this would have been the week year 6 would have been on residential, we thought it would be a nice opportunity to take a look at the Activity Passport for primary children. Take a look at what you could tick off, what you could do now and what you would like to do when we return to 'normality'. We would love to hear about this when we see you again.

We really miss seeing you all – teaching this way is nowhere near as much fun as being together as an Eagle family. But, until we do get together again, keep up the great work, use Bug Club, send us battle challenges on TT Rockstars and – most importantly of all – stay fantastic!
