This week you are going to think about writing a booklet about an animal of your own. Look back at the book Big Cats, which page headings will work for your animal? You can either research an animal yourself or use the facts about camels I have given you.
Write the information using the grammar you have practised last week (fronted adverbials etc) and add drawings / maps / diagrams.
HINT – I would use these page headings:-
Introducing ________ _______ Habitats Different types of __________
A special talent of ___________
Maths - Aim to add up amounts of money and work out change
Using money activities, see how many of the activities you can complete this week.
- Ask your adult to put a price on the food you eat for meals and or snacks – add up how much they cost you each day. OR maybe your grown can give you an amount of play money to spend on snacks or food each day. Your grown up may choose to make unhealthy snacks much more expensive than healthy snacks!
- Money art - look at the resource sheet to explain this activity.
- Maths frame game – Practise adding up amounts and working out change. Choose your own level to challenge yourself. OR make a shopping board game like the ones in the resource section.
- Play a shopping game with an adult. Take turns in being the shopkeeper. Make coins and notes at home and buy items from your bedroom. OR play this shopping game online. Choose the level to challenge yourself, either matching the amount with exact coins or using mixed coins to work out change.
- Solve these money problems Choose one of the money problem games to play OR make up some money problems of your own.
Is it flat? Mountainous? Does it have many cities? Does it have any castles? Draw or paint a picture of what you think the Dordogne looks like after your research.
