Home Learning week beginning 4th May 2020

Dear Eagles and Eagle families!

We hope that you are still in good health and staying safe.

For us it is of utmost importance that you are happy and in good spirits at this time. We have included some extra resources of the SEND support page which which offer some activities to help maintain a positive mindset at this time, as well as support in a range of other areas. Please take a look.

Maths

  • Please continue to practise your times tables on TTRock Stars. Have a look at the Times Tables page for more information.
  • Remember that on Hit the button on  Top Mark Maths you can practise some of your key math skills.
  • This week we have included links to the national academy learning. We will be looking at the first 5 lessons from year 5 on transformations. This will serve as revision work for year 6 children but will be just as important to complete and feel confident in. If you think you might struggle working at the year 5 level, as we are all at different stages of our learning journey, then please look at other year groups area of study and choose something that you feel you would benefit from practising. We have looked at all the areas; year 1 length and mass, year 2 shape, year 3 fractions, year 4 perimeter and area and year 6 fractions and all offer great opportunities for revising and learning skills.
  • feel more support is needed please look at our SEND support page for activities to support all areas and useful websites.
  • You can also complete a section from the maths books, if you were given given one, each day. This will allow you to practise the skills you have learnt so far this year.

Reading

  • By now you should be enjoying your Bug Club account. If there are any problems please let us know.
  • Please continue to read daily. We have included some different reading challenges that can be completed alongside your reading.
  • Try contacting the library to see if you can work on the Book Track Scheme from home.
  • We have included a range of VE day comprehensions. Remember that challenges go from 1 being easier and 3 being more challenging.

Spelling

  • Continue to work on the words from your personal spelling lists. They are words specifically chosen for you from the assessments. If you can't find your list, we'll find a way of getting another to you. We have also included some ideas of different ways to help remember these spellings - see lists below - you need to know Year 3/4 (we've been calling them Set 1) and Year 5/6.

Writing

  • Write each day in your diary. Remember it can also include information about you and your family and friends and compare it to what you would normally be doing during this time.

Topic

  • On the 8th of May it will be 75 years since VE day. We have included a range of activities for you to have a go at.
Please complete the first 5 lessons on transformations.
