Music at the Minster Church

On Sunday 17th November, about 45 children who make up our choir and orchestra played to a packed out venue.

They were joined by ex-pupils and children from Colyton Grammar School, Wells Cathedral School and members of the Axe Vale Orchestra.

The choir performed two songs by Benjamin Britten to celebrate his centenary year, The Sally Gardens and Oliver Cromwell.

The audience roared with applause and were immensely impressed by the quality of the singing and playing.

One audience member commented, “I can’t quite believe the high standard of musicianship I have seen here today. The children should be very, very proud of themselves.”

Since the performance, Mrs Burrough has received many e-mails and cards from members of the public who really enjoyed the concert.
