Owl Class - Home Learning 18th May 2020

Hello Owls.  It has been great seeing some of the home learning you have been doing at home.  Keep uploading these onto the Facebook page as I really enjoy seeing what you have been up to whilst at home.  Use this week to complete any of the activities in your home learning packs and don't forget to try some activities outside too.  It will be a chance to review some of the tasks you've completed and perhaps notice some skills and knowledge retained or perhaps you will notice improvements.
At the same time PLEASE continue with the fantastic reading work you have been sharing on Bug Club and other reading programmes, continue with your spellings and times tables in creative ways.

I have included a few new activities for this week if you choose to do something extra:

Maths
-Create some Maths problems using the life cycles as inspiration.  For example, if there are 50 frogspawn and 30 of them hatch, how many have not? If there are 15 frogs in one pond and 32 in another, how any are there in total? Record your word problems in your maths books.  Perhaps pictures to help you explain the problem.

English.  We have now completed The Queen's Hat.
-Could you perform (or record) your own read along version of this book?  Use your version of the story to help you.
-Join in with Super Movers who explain about possessive apostrophes.  The title 'The Queen's Hat' uses a possessive apostrophe to show that the hat belongs to the Queen.  What other book titles can you invent that contain a possessive apostrophe?

Science/Art
-What do humans need to stay healthy?  Watch the BBC bitesize video and use the information to make a poster about what humans need.
-Take a look at the rainbow milk experiment below - why does this happen? Watch your milk dance!

Topic
-Watch the slide show about the UK.  Compare the areas - how have they changed over time?  Record your answers in your book using the sheet to help you.

Have fun!
