Owl Class - Home Learning 4th May

Hello Owls.  This week the majority of home-learning has been sent to you in the post. It should have arrived safely at your house by now but don't worry if it is not with you yet.
I hope you enjoy receiving a parcel in the post!  It has been lovely seeing and hearing about all of the home learning extra activities you have been doing whilst at home. Keep up the good work.

Here are some other online and practical activities you can also have a go at this week:

Maths
-TTRS.  Check out your score and try to get quicker and more accurate if you need to.  Take a look at the challenge for this week!  If you are unsure of your password then do get in contact as I have them all.
-Maths on the move - Have a look at these sheets and choose which one you would like to do.  There is no need to print it off, just record the activities in your maths book.

Reading
-Read with your family - this can be magazines as well as books from home.
-Complete all the questions within the books on Bug Club before moving onto the next one.  Collect coins and use these to collect stickers!

Spelling
-Continue with your spelling lists.  There is a great website and I have attached the link below - you can choose the common exception words to practise and there are other activities too.  Use the other ICT games links for these.
-Log onto Bug Club to play some of the phonics and spelling activities.
-You can also access Phonics Play from home.  All of the details are on the whole school page but I will also include the link below.

English
-Last week we started The Queen's Hat.  This week we will use this story to make another version.  What could go missing this time?  How about her handbag?  Or her glove?  Maybe her glasses?  You can choose what goes missing.  Will it go on a journey throughout London again?  What other landmarks weren't mentioned in the book?  Perhaps the object travels to the Science Museum or Paddington Station?  Wherever it goes try to use the same structure as the story, making your own changes as you go along.  Throughout the book it contains verbs to describe the movement of the object as well as onomatopoeia (a word which sounds like what is means for example, crash, whoosh, smash and buzz).  Have a go at using these techniques.  Remember to plan your ideas first.

Art
-Draw or paint a picture of Queen Elizabeth I or Queen Victoria.

RE
-Can you identify some of the signs of Easter?
-When is the Paschal candle lit and why?
-Why are the letters Alpha and Omega on the candle?
-What language are they from?
-What do you think they mean?
-Make your own sign to go on the Easter candle.

PE
-Check out the PE ideas on the whole school page.

If you have access to Facebook and already haven't done so, please log in to see updates on the school Facebook page.  This is also an area to upload all of your wonderful work!

Miss you all!
Miss Burnell
