Monday Phonics

Recap all the sounds and words learnt so far using the power points attached or phonics play. 

Practise spelling the phase 2 high frequency words. Choose 5 to practise each day then once they are memorised, move onto the next five.

Read the sentences: The dog is in the rain. The dog is hot. The dog is long.

Practise spelling the words see, tree, feet and weep.

Play buried treasure on phonics play choosing the ‘ee’ words.

Read the caption My feet feel hot.

Practise reading the words coat, boat, toad & goal.

Practise spelling the words loaf, toad, oak, soap & goat.

 

Practise reading the words rain, main, moat, boat, beet, feet, feel, fail, rail, rain.

Thursday Phonics

Practise writing the phase 2 high frequency words.

Practise reading the words ‘she’ and ‘all’, ‘was’, ‘will’ & ‘with’

Show your child how some names start with a digraph (two letters that make one sound) like the ch sound/phoneme in Charlie or the sh sound/phoneme in Sharon and tell them if a name starts with a digraph like this it is only the first letter that is written as a capital letter.  Have a go at spelling the names Chuck & Chad.

Write the sentences:

I went to see Chad.

She can see Chip the dog.

Friday Phonics

Practise writing the phase 2 high frequency words.

Practise reading the words ‘she’ and ‘all’, ‘was’, ‘will’ & ‘with’

 

Be a digraph detective and see if you can see the digraphs (two letters that make one sound/phoneme) in the sentences and underline them.

I can see rain on the roof.

Chip the dog has a long tail.

Have a go at writing the following sentences…

She can sail in her boat.

Jill has sheep, chicks and goats.

I put soap on my feet.
