Practise reading all the phonemes (sounds) learnt in phase 2 and phase 3 using the power points on yesterday's lesson. Alternatively, if you fancy something different follow the link on phonics play using the log in details - username: jan21 and password: home - and do the flashcard speed trial. You can pick the individual graphemes (letters) you want to practise. The children have learnt up to set 8 - sh, ch, th & ng. As well as this you can play the tricky word trucks and choose phase 2 all high frequency words and phase 3 all high frequency words.
Today the children are learning the nk sounds. This is where the 'n' sounds like 'ng' when it is followed by the 'k'. Please watch the Geraldine the Giraffe video. Once your child has watched the video, please practise writing the words link, bank, tank, bunk, sink and read the words rink, pink, sunk, honk & chunk.

Can I sit in a sink?
Can the cat honk?
