28th June 2019
On Friday 28th June we held our annual interhouse sports day on what was a scorcher of an afternoon. We were fortunate enough to borrow some event shelters from Axminster Football club to keep the children in the shade. During the week leading up to the event children ran laps of the track for 15 mins and the children who came 1st, 2nd, and 3rd by accumulating the most laps had their scores added to their house. We also held field events including standing long jump, vortex throw, bean bag throw and speed bounce. Children who came 1st, 2nd and 3rd had their points added to their house previous to sports day. Opening the event was our foundation and KS1 gymnastics club who performed a delightful routine to music. During the afternoon of sports day the children competed well in a wide variety of track events and enjoyed cheering on their fellow competitors. Our wonderful PTFA provided fruit during a break whilst the children watched their younger siblings and parents race. It was a closely fought event and after years of sports day wins being dominated by St Andrews our winners for the afternoon were St Patricks. Well done St Patricks.
