St. Mary's staff and pupils tackle the Minster Challenge.

On Sunday 5th October 2014, staff and pupils from St. Mary’s gathered outside in the cold, fit and eager to take part in the Minster Challenge. We had competitors in all three events (the 10k, 5k and 1 mile fun run) and lots of our pupils had been building up their running stamina through attending our school Running Club.

The 10k turned out to be more like 14k and had some of us running through woods, bogs and streams; we had mud up to our waists! The 5k also had its share of mud and woodland but didn’t put anyone off; it was lovely to see so many of our past pupils remaining dedicated to their running! The one mile fun run (for children up to the age of 11) provided lots of laughs and a few competitive streaks emerged towards the finish.

All the competitors received finishers’ mementoes and we raised some valuable sponsorship money for our school in the process.
