Stockland Cross Country

8th February 2023
Well done to Violet, Isabelle, Freya, Rafferty, Blake, James, Shannon, Emily, Bridget, Eli, Harry and Daniel for representing the St Mary’s at the third Stockland Cross Country meet of the season. They showed the school games values of passion, self-belief and determination in their efforts. Our school games value for this week was make the right choice, not the easy choice and our runners showed this value on Wednesday evening. Congratulations to Freya who wanted to give the cross country a go but found as she was running the course it was really hard work. Despite this, Freya kept going and completed the race, making the right choice, not the easy choice. Rafferty lost a shoe half way round but kept going despite running in socks. Blake lost a shoe and was running in first place. He stopped to put it back on which lost his position by about twenty places but worked hard to make his way through the competitors to finish in second place. What a fantastic achievement!
