Activities for Wriggly Writers this week.
Please choose one activity to do each day.
Long Ladder Letters – please practise the letters in the long ladder family. There is a sheet attached to show you how to write the letters if you wish to use it.
Captions/sentences – please use the pictures of space to write some simple captions. Please use the word bank to help with spelling. You will be able to show your child the words on the word bank that they need. They will be able to sound out some words and I have also attached a sound mat and a high frequency word mat for phases 2 and 3 so your child can use it to help them with their spelling.
Alien Picture- follow the Oak Academy lesson which shows your child how to make an alien picture. If you could get your child to cut out their handprints and stick them on a new piece of paper before they draw the features that would be great. If you don’t have paint you can encourage your child to draw round their hands.
Lego Rocket – encourage your child to make a rocket out of Lego or Duplo or whatever construction pieces you have at home. If you don’t have any Lego or any other type of construction set, have a go at making a junk modelling rocket.
High Frequency words –practise spelling the phase 2 high frequency words (five at a time). Once you have learnt five, go onto the next five. Move onto phase 3 if you know the phase 2 words. They are attached so you know what they are. If your child is willing, this could be a 10 min every day activity.
