Activities for Wriggly Writers this week.
Please choose one activity to do each day.
Curly Caterpillar Family – please practise the letters in the curly caterpillar family. There is a sheet attached to show you how to write the letters if you wish to use it.
Captions/sentences – please use the pictures you didn’t use last week of space to write some simple captions. Please use the word bank to help with spelling. You will be able to show your child the words on the word bank that they need. They will be able to sound out some words and I have also attached a sound mat and a high frequency word mat for phases 2 and 3 so your child can use it to help them with their spelling.
Alien Hats- We will give the children a strip of paper to make a head band and we will encourage them to make it into an alien hat by decorating the band with alien blob shapes using glitter and glue and then by cutting circles and sticking them onto pipe cleaners to make antennae. We will use googly eyes (maybe not as big as in the picture) to stick on the circles. See the picture for inspiration.
Playdough Aliens –we will put out various resources like cutters, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, beads etc. and encourage the children to make different aliens out of the bright coloured playdough using the resources to decorate them.
High Frequency words – practise spelling the phase 2 and 3 high frequency words, depending on which words your child need to learn to spell. If your child can spell the phase 2 and 3 high frequency words have a go at the phase 4 tricky words. They are all attached so you know what they are. If your child is willing, this could be a 10 min every day activity.
