Global Learning at St Mary's

Our world is not as healthy as we want and need it to be. At St Mary's we involve our children in making the world a better place so that they can see and learn that they can make a difference; to each other, to our school and community as well as the wider world.
Our inspiration is a letter from Pope Francis to all children, Laudato Si, Praise be with you.  An encouraging letter to as the children to make a better at changing the world than the grown ups are doing.
Watch the animation below for more information.
St Mary's is recognised as being a Cafod Supporting School.
Our children are developing skills and attitudes to be inclusive and outward facing.  They are working to bring God's light into our world and to be a positive change in our world.

Unicef Sustainable Development Goals

Agenda 2030 is a United Nations led programme to set out 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  These goals aim to end extreme poverty, reduce inequality and protect the planet in a sustainable way.

It is universal in scope – it applies to every country and every person in the world.  It commits all countries everywhere to work towards sustainable development at all times.  It also makes the promise to leave no one behind by reaching out to all people in need.

Everyone working on the goals must work on all of them, not just one or two because they are also interconnected and cannot be divided.
