Woodpeckers news

1st May 2021
Woodpeckers have been doing their music outside so that they are allowed to sing. Here are some photos from today's lesson.
We have been looking at the place value of numbers in maths. We have been creating numbers using different resources and then ordering numbers. Here are some photos from when we were working in groups to do this. We have also been working on how we work in groups and how to be kind to each other.
Here are some photos from our explore and learn time.
Woodpeckers used a variety of maths games to cover a wide range of skills in maths. We covered number bonds, sentence making, understanding the number square, reading numbers and times tables. We also worked hard to work well in a group.
We are looking at plants in science and as part of this we are looking at how they grow from the seeds. Today we planted sunflower seeds.
Our writing topic for this half term is poetry and we have learnt this poem called 'Hullabaloo!' together.
Woodpeckers created this mosaic as a class.
As a class, we wrote this poem in the same style as 'BEwARe!'
Woodpeckers ended the half term with a teddy bear picnic and parachute games
