World Book Day

For World Book Day the pupils at St Mary's had 3 inspirational visitors.
Rickey Austin, from Alice's Bear Hospital in Lyme Regis, read some of her books to Robin and Woodpecker class. They enjoyed sharing her teddy bear stories.
Rickey spent some time with Owl and Kestrel class telling them where she got her inspiration for her stories from. She showed them her sketch books with all her story ideas in.
Katy Cawkwell performed stories to all our classes. All the children hung on her every word and they were all really inspired by her tales.
Jethro Wilson, author and illustrator, worked with Owl, Kestrel and Eagle classes showing them how to create characters for stories using a simple coloured circle to start. They used their imagination and were very creative with their human and animal characters.
