Eco- warriors projects

Our eco-warriors are very eager to make our school more sustainable! We meet weekly to work out how we can be more sustainable.
29.01.25
We met today to discuss what ways we can be sustainable and to discuss what we can do. We also looked through each classes sustainability checklist.
05.02.25
We had a busy session today! We started by discussing and exciting new inter-class competition that we will be running from after half term. More of this to come!

After this we named our schools sustainability mascot- Stanley-Bob

The children then designed posters for the bins to help everyone understand what they can put in each bin.
13.02.25
The eco-warriors chose their first secret mission to check in on how sustainable the classes are being- we will reveal it along with the winners the first Thursday back after half term!
We also completed a litter pick where the bin was nearly half full! We told the school in assembly and are hoping to improve the amount of litter that we find on the school's ground.

Our secret mission for this week was to see which class had turned off their interactive whiteboard when it was not being used. Congratulations to Robin class who are our first winners of the eco-warriors competition!
Since then our secret competition winners have been:
Owls for switching off the lights
Kestrels for recycling correctly
Eagles for recycling correctly

23.04.25

The eco-warriors met to discuss the results from the Sustrans big walk and wheel event which will be announced in next weeks assembly. We also discussed that this term our focus is going to be on waste and water usage. We then did a litter pick where we collected less than half of what we did during our first litter pick!
